Comms National Awards final call for entries!

With just days to go until the Comms National Awards deadline the judges have put out a final call for entries.

"The deadline of August 12th is fast approaching but there is still time to get an entry in," said Awards co-ordinator Nigel Sergent.

BT Group reports 4% dip in revenues

BT Group has posted its results for the first quarter to 30 June 2010, reporting revenue of £5,006m, down 4%, operating costs reduced by £291m, adjusted EBITDA2 of £1,399m, up 6%, adjusted profit before tax2 of £446m, up 17%.

O-bit expands sales team with two new recruits

Jerry Pettie joins O-bit as Key Account Manager and proactively manages large account's spend and growth. Before joining O-bit, Pettie was a New Media Consultant for BT Retail in the Directories channel and helped pioneer the New Media Advertising proposition into the SME market.

STL climbs aboard the Speedy bus

Computerlinks staff get on their bike for charity

Members of Newmarket-based Computerlinks' key account management team undertook the 60 mile charity bike ride from London to Cambridge on Sunday 25th July. The team of six have so far raised over £3,200 for the charity Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

Powwownow acquires majority share in Yuuguu

Powwownow has acquired a majority share in Liverpool-based company Yuuguu, a fast growing free web conference service. Powwownow have paid an undisclosed sum for a 70% share.

With this acquisition, Powwownow has strengthened its proposition as the voice and web conferencing solution for SMBs and corporates in the UK, Europe and beyond, claims the firm.

Largest and smallest companies see biggest improvements in payment performance

The Late Payment Index from Experian shows that UK businesses paid their bills significantly faster during April to June of this year than they did compared to the same period last year.

Experian's analysis shows that during Q2, 2010 businesses paid their bills an average of 20.99 days late compared to 23.61 days late in Q2 2009.
