Aiming to sharpen up on its culture and the delivery of its business strategy the European, Asia and US business of Cable & Wireless has joined forces with US-based on-demand performance and talent management solutions specialist SuccessFactors.
Cable & Wireless is using SuccessFactors Performance and Talent Management Suite to drive management capability and employee performance to achieve its corporate wide objectives of redefining customer experience and satisfaction within the telecommunications industry.
Cable & Wireless' international business unit operates integrated telecommunications companies in 33 countries offering mobile, broadband, domestic and international fixed line services to residential and business customers, with principal operations in the Caribbean, Panama, Macau, Monaco and the Channel Islands. The Europe, Asia & U.S. business unit provides enterprise and carrier solutions to the largest users of telecoms services across the UK, US. continental Europe and Asia - and wholesale broadband services in the UK.
"Traditionally, the telecoms industry has done a poor job of delivering a good customer experience and maintaining outstanding customer service levels," said James Eastwood, director of HR shared services for Cable & Wireless. "Our business strategy is to transform the industry by delivering world class service to the largest global telecomms users. Great service can only be delivered with great people.
"However, we are operating in turnaround mode, so we have a limited HR budget and limited HR resources to manage, motivate and develop the great people who will deliver our success. Faced with this challenge, it was clear we needed to find a better way of doing things if we were to have impact and create a high performance culture with a talented and motivated workforce. SuccessFactors is a key enabler for us in finding that better way to grow, develop and motivate our colleagues."
